Actually one of the biggest (sized) hostels I've ever been to. The location is incredible, particularly for the price. It's right by acarajé stands and right by Barra's beaches (like a 3 minute walk from 1 and a 10 minute walk from another if I recall correctly). Bed was comfortable and the staff was nice, even though after talking with me I wanted to get in contact with them because I was looking for an apartment in the area and they had mentioned knowing about some, but I couldn't get in contact with them after and I think it may have been intentional, which kind of disappointed me. However, everything during the actual hostel stay was great, and it was a great stay for the price. The room itself was really hot, but had powerful fans and I slept just fine, just didn't use a blanket (you get used to this in Brazil and it's actually quite comfy). I'd stay here again!

It was really difficult to find and there's basically no signage out front for you to be able to locate it. However, my uber driver helped me find it. All the lockers were full, but see above -- he helped me get a locker anyways (I had to pay a little extra to use it, but a very reasonable price). I don't recall a towel being included, but I've paid more for hostels and still had to pay for towels sometimes so. Bathrooms could be in better condition. But for the price, and especially for just one night, this wasn't a problem at all, and because the hostel's huge some of the bathrooms are nicer than others.

But for the price and the location, it is great. It's also clean. And it has a nice chill area. And the Walmart is 1 mn walk.

Beware, it is not a hostel. It's more like a place for seasonal/yearly workers to live in. So this is like staying in 10 different people's house and it can be quite tiring. First, we were received, cashed in, and that was it. No tour of the place, had to guess where were the toilets and showers, no one speaks English and you don't really understands who works there and who doesn't. Not knowing the rules, we got scolded (like kids) for letting our plates, less than 5 mns, dry on the drying rack (why is there one if you don't want us to use it) and for using some sugar, which we thought was in common. In all, a sense of uneasiness.

It’s really clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. It’s more like staying at someone’s home, really relaxed. The Walmart is on 1min walking distance, the beach 2min. And around the corner is a cheap, good place for eating acarajé.

Our dorm was a bit small for all the big backpacks when the dorm is full.
